More time for the family:

How this works and why a vacation on the Turracher Höhe is the ideal time-out

More time for the family and the people closest to your heart. That's what many people want. And therefore regularly make it their resolution. But all too soon they realize: once again, it hasn't worked out. Too many appointments, too little time or too few rules - these are the most common reasons for this. Because a little discipline is definitely required when it comes to having more time for the family. But it definitely pays off, because time that we dedicate to our family or our favorite people is worth its weight in gold. Over time, it turns into close relationships, trust, closeness, affection and love. And we need all of this like the air we breathe. What's more, studies prove time and again that children also want more time with their parents. Reason enough to finally put this resolution into practice. We'll tell you how you can do it.

Tips for spending more time with your family

As already mentioned, the following tips first require a pinch of discipline in order to not only bring about a positive change in the short term, but to turn things around in the long term. Combined with a good dose of willpower, nothing stands in the way of implementation:

  • Set fixed appointments: Whether it's a doctor's appointment or a professional meeting - we put important things in our calendar and stick to them. However, it's a different story when it comes to family matters, as we usually don't give them the attention they deserve. As a result, we put them at the back of the list in terms of priority. And before you know it, they get lost in a sea of other appointments. However, if you also make a note of private matters such as vacations, trips or meetings as fixed appointments and give them the same importance as professional matters, you run less risk of forgetting them.

  • Reduce distractions: We live in the information age. And that also means that distractions in the form of texts, images and videos are lurking everywhere. One of the biggest distractions is the smartphone. After all, who hasn't experienced it: just a quick check of social media channels, just a quick watch of a video and just a quick visit to an online store - and half an hour has passed. But that's valuable time that we're missing out on for other things - first and foremost for real social contact. So if you want to spend more time with your family, it's a good idea to set rules for smartphone use - such as a time limit. But a few rules are also good for other supposed time killers such as watching TV or spending time in front of the PC.

  • Convert duties: Even if we can carve out many a time slot for ourselves, there are still a few duties that we can't say goodbye to. But there is a solution for these too: duties can be turned into shared experiences. How about a cooking session where the children get to wield the wooden spoon? You can also incorporate the process of shopping or setting the table. Or you can spruce up the garden together. Children love spending time outside and you can teach them a lot about nature in the process.

  • Take everyone into account: You find the summit hike extremely exciting yourself, but the children would rather spend time at the playground. And while the little ones like to play in the bouncy castle, teenagers are only tempted outside by the prospect of a round of go-karting. A familiar scenario, isn't it? Admittedly: Reconciling all interests is a mammoth task. But one that is worthwhile. Because if children don't feel that they are being taken seriously, bored or annoyed faces are inevitable. It is therefore best to sit down together before the vacation and collect ideas. Then make sure that everyone gets their turn - if not on one trip, then definitely on the next.

  • Say goodbye to perfectionism: We humans tend to compare ourselves with others. And we often have the feeling that other families manage the balancing act between family time and work better than we do or that other couples are better parents. However, such a view is not helpful, because every family is different. And therefore not identical. So try not to compare yourself with others. And say goodbye to perfectionism. What counts in the end is the radiance of your children and the heartfelt moments - nothing else.

A family vacation full of heartfelt moments

"Moments of the heart" is the keyword. Because you can also collect them on a family vacation on the Turracher Höhe - we would even like to say: hoard them. Because the possibilities for young and old are extremely varied here, which is largely due to the unique location: here mountains meet lakes, alpine joie de vivre meets fun and games. And we are right in the middle of it all: the Seehotel Jägerwirt. That's why we are not only the perfect starting point for all kinds of activities, but we also see ourselves as an adventure home base.

The range starts with experiences on and in the water, such as swimming in the 20 degree clear mountain lake, steering a sailing boat, pedal boat, kayak or rowing boat as well as stand-up paddling or fishing. There are also various options on the mountain, such as hiking, mountain biking or mountain yoga. There is also a forest playground right behind the hotel. There you will find activities such as archery, disc golf, climbing, basketball, badminton, table tennis, country field hockey and beach ball. Scooters and go-karts are also available. If that's not enough, visit the three-hectare panoramic playground "Nocky's AlmZeit" at 2,000 meters above sea level and whizz through the area on the Nocky Flitzer.

And if the weather doesn't tempt you outside, our Bali Spa, the Zirbenreich, the pool area and the fitness center are waiting to be used. The youngest guests can also let off steam in the "Kitz Club" or go down the two-storey slide!
